Two dogs were killed and a 24-year-old man was severely burned in a house fire in west-central Minnesota Monday night.
The fire was reported at 8:22 p.m. in the 500 block of East Main Avenue in Frazee, a town of approximately 1,400 residents located 10 miles southeast of Detroit Lakes.
Frazee Fire Department responded to the blaze, later issuing a press release that says a 24-year-old man was severely burned and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Two dogs were also killed in the fire.
Frazee Fire Chief Joe Nelson said the house was a total loss and that the cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
Fire departments from surrounding towns, including Detroit Lakes, Perham and Vergas, also responded to the fire.
