Man severely burned, 2 dogs die in west-central Minnesota house fire

Two dogs were killed and a 24-year-old man was severely burned in a house fire in west-central Minnesota Monday night.  

The fire was reported at 8:22 p.m. in the 500 block of East Main Avenue in Frazee, a town of approximately 1,400 residents located 10 miles southeast of Detroit Lakes. 

Frazee Fire Department responded to the blaze, later issuing a press release that says a 24-year-old man was severely burned and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Two dogs were also killed in the fire. 

Frazee Fire Chief Joe Nelson said the house was a total loss and that the cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
