A deadly night in the Twin Cities saw men shot dead in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The first happened in downtown Minneapolis' theater district, with a man found with a gunshot wound on the northeast corner of 8th Street South and Hennepin Avenue around 10:21 p.m.
Police learned he had been in a fight with the suspected gunman a short time before being shot. He later died in Hennepin County Medical Center.
The suspect fled the scene in a car, with police saying nobody is in custody at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
In St. Paul, about an hour later, shots were reported near Old Hudson Road and Earl Street.
Police arrived to find a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to Regions Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Investigators are looking to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, with police noting there are two bars nearby.
They mark the latest killings in what has been a deadly month for the Twin Cities, with Saturday's fatal shooting in St. Paul the 8th in the city in September alone, as well as the officer-involved shooting of Ronald Davis.
There have been 22 homicides in St. Paul in total this year.
