Man shot during funeral in Cloquet

Police have arrested the suspect.

One man is in custody and another is hospitalized following a shooting in Cloquet.

The incident happened Friday morning at the Fond du Lac Head Start gymnasium where a funeral was taking place, according to the news release.

A preliminary investigation shows a single shot was fired and one person was struck.

The victim is a 45-year-old man from Minneapolis who was attending the funeral. He has been taken to the hospital and police say they do not have information on his condition.

A 28-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene. According to the release, funeral attendees helped hold the suspect until officers arrived. He is being held at the Carlton County Jail awaiting charges.

This is believed to be an isolated incident. Police are investigating the relationship between the suspect and the victim. Investigators will also review surveillance video.
