A homicide investigation is ongoing in Duluth after a Saturday night shooting.

According to Duluth Police Department, a 22-year-old man was shot on the 100 block of East 3rd Street in downtown Duluth around 7:10 p.m. Saturday. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, but the department learned Sunday that he had died.

The victim, from Duluth, has not been fully identified.

A 17-year-old suspect, also from Duluth, was arrested and booked into the Arrowhead Juvenile Detention Center on a pending charge of second-degree murder.

"Duluth Police are asking for the public’s help in collecting additional information from this incident. To provide information, please call 911 or 218-730-5050, which will connect you to the Violent Crimes Unit," the news release from
Duluth PD says.

Police initially said they were searching for a second suspect but now believe the shooter acted alone.

No further information has been released.
