Man surrenders in Bemidji hit-and-run that killed 25-year-old

A 58-year-old man has turned himself in to police, saying that he was the driver in a fatal hit-and-run that killed 25-year-old Christopher Lee Strong last week near Bemidji, the Bemidji Pioneer reports.

Strong’s body was found at the intersection of Grange and Nature roads just before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday by a newspaper carrier for The Pioneer, the newspaper reported.

The red Chevrolet Monte Carlo police identified Thursday as being involved in the hit-and-run was seized by authorities, the newspaper reported. Few other details were available.

A funeral service is planned for Monday afternoon in Red Lake, his obituary notes. He was born in Minneapolis and graduated from Mahnomen High School.
