Two people have been charged and another is on the run in connection with an armed robbery of a man in a remote area of northern Minnesota.

The victim told the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office he driving a vehicle with four people, Michael Latour Sr., 32, Amanda McVay, 32, and Damian Maher, 28, and an unidentified individual, as they drove around Chisholm in the early hours of June 26.

The victim said that he, Latour and Maher exited the van and began walking down a wooded trail off McNiven Road in Balkan Township.

It's at this point that Latour and Maher pulled out handguns, robbing the victim at gunpoint, taking his wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The pair then fired 3-4 shots "to scare the victim from following them back to the vehicle."

They then proceeded to steal his vehicle and fled the area.

The victim walked a while before coming upon a residence where he called 911. At about noon, police took Latour Sr. and McVay, both of Duluth, into custody.

They have been charged with 1st-degree aggravated robbery and motor vehicle theft.

Maher, of Cloquet, has not been located, with police issuing a warrant for his arrest on the same charges.

Anyone who knows where he is should call 911.
