Man with gunshot wounds dies after being brought to Twin Cities hospital

Homicide detectives are investigating.

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man showed up at a Twin Cities hospital with gunshot wounds late Wednesday night. 

Minneapolis Police Department reports that a 37-year-old African-American man with multiple gunshot wounds was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center by a private vehicle at approximately 11:25 p.m. Wednesday. He died a short time later. 

Investigators believe the man was wounded in a shooting around 11 p.m. in north Minneapolis, somewhere north of Dowling Avenue, south of 42nd Avenue North and east of Fremont Avenue, a general area that is depicted in the map below.

Police say the shooting happened outside a building or possibly inside a vehicle. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact CrimeStoppers of Minnesota.

The victim's identity will be released at a later date by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Officer.
