Man, woman found dead from gunshot wounds in Wright County

Authorities suspect the incident to have been a murder-suicide.

Authorities are investigating what is believed to be a murder-suicide in Wright County.

Deputies with the Wright County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 4000 block of Woodhill Court in Rockford around 8:30 p.m. Friday after neighbors reported seeing an unoccupied vehicle running in a driveway for more than an hour.

Deputies arrived at the residence and found a man and woman dead inside the home. The Wright County Sheriff's Office issued a release saying both died from apparent gunshot wounds.

"While this is an ongoing investigation it is believed the male found inside the home shot and killed the female before turning the gun on himself," the release said.

The man and woman knew each other, the sheriff's office noted, adding that it is not looking for any suspects.

The identities of the man and woman have not been released.
