Man's body found after camper fire at Itasca County resort

The body of a man was found by firefighters who responded to a blaze at a camper in Itasca County.

Authorities were called to the Little Winnie Resort at around 12:10 a.m. on report of a camper fire, with the caller expressing concern that someone was inside as there was a boat and truck near to the camper.

Firefighters from Deer River extinguished the blaze, and then discovered the man's body inside the camper.

He has not yet been identified, with his family members still being informed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
