Man's body found in Mississippi River near St. Cloud

The unidentified man is estimated to be anywhere from 19-39 years old.

Authorities in St. Cloud are asking for the public's help identifying a man whose body was found in the Mississippi River this week. 

According to a tweet from the Stearns County sheriff, the discovery was made by a kayaker near the St. Cloud water treatment plant on Wednesday, June 5:

"It was evident he had been there for some time," the news release says. A small campsite was found near the body. 

The man is 5'6," 19 to 39 years old and believed to be caucasian or Native American. He was wearing a white or gray t-shirt with green stripes, tan jean shorts with "stitching on the back pockets," and black socks. 

There are no tattoos or any other distinguishing marks on the body. 

Anyone with information that could help identify him is urged to contact the Stearns County Sheriff's Office at 320-251-4240.
