Maple Grove homicide victim identified as 26-year-old from Minneapolis

A man found shot to death in a Maple Grove park earlier this week has been identified as a Minneapolis man. 

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, 26-year-old Dayton Leonard Rossetti died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds at Lakeview Knolls Park in Maple Grove. 

The medical examiner ruled Rossetti's death a homicide. 

Investigators are working to identity people known to have had contact with Rossetti, and drug activity is believed to be connected to the incident. 

"The circumstances surrounding this case are indicative with criminal drug activity," said Maple Grove PD in a press release. 

There does not appear to be any threat to the public.
