A young man who was hit by a car at an intersection in Maplewood last week has died.

Jordan Ciampi, 20, was walking to work on Monday, March 4, and struck by a vehicle while crossing the street.

He succumbed to his injuries on Friday, the Star Tribune reports.

The paper says the car that hit him had the green light.

According to WCCO, police identified and questioned the driver, though it's not clear if he or she is facing any legal consequences.

The station says police are still waiting for the results of an accident reconstruction.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe set up on behalf of Ciampi's family has raised more than $4,000 (with a goal of $10,000) in just a few days.

Though it was launched while Ciampi was still alive and aimed at helping the family with medical expenses, donations continue to pour in after his death.
