Despite heaps of praise from President Barack Obama for not laying off any of their 4,000 employees during the recession, Warroad, Minn.-based Marvin Windows and Doors endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at his running mate Paul Ryan's rally Sunday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the Star Tribune reported.

Susan Marvin, president of Marvin Windows, took stage with Ryan at the rally to give the endorsement, saying, "Job creation is core to the Romney-Ryan team. Business is not the enemy. Business creates jobs."

Obama singled out the company in a speech in Kansas in December 2011 and again during his nomination acceptance speech during the Democratic National Convention in September.

The Star Tribune noted that Marvin's endorsement shouldn't come as a surprise since the company has generally supported Republicans.

On Thursday, Romney visited Marvin's company facility in the state of Virginia.
