Face masks will be required when flying, traveling by rail and on buses until at least next year, as the COVID-19 delta variant continues to surge.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has extended the face mask requirement for everyone on all transportation networks throughout the United States through Jan. 18, 2022.
That means travelers must wear a face covering at airports and on planes, when on over-the-road buses and on commuter bus and rail systems.
The current face mask requirement was set to expire on Sept. 13 of this year.
The TSA encourages airline travelers to check with their airline for any additional inflight restrictions before they fly.
