A deputy from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office was airlifted to a hospital in the Twin Cities following a crash Wednesday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Dep. Kaylin Mckensey Hare, 22, of Litchfield, was driving a 2018 Ford Explorer squad vehicle north on 730th Ave. in Dassel Township and as she was turning west onto 240th St. she was struck by an eastbound GMC Sierra.

The crash report says the view at the intersection was obstructed by a large snow bank and hillcrest.

"One of our Deputies was involved in a serious crash this morning while on patrol," the Meeker County Sheriff's Office announced on Facebook.

"Deputy Hare was airlifted to HCMC with non-life threatening serious injuries. The MN State Patrol is doing the crash investigation. Thank you to all the agencies and personnel that responded to this crash this morning."

Sheriff Brian Cruze told Crow River Media that Hare was stable and being prepped for surgery Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the GMC Sierra, a 52-year-old man from Dassel, was not injured.
