Metro Transit offering free rides in the Twin Cities on New Year's Eve
If you're planning to be out and about for New Year's Eve festivities in the Twin Cities, take advantage of Metro Transit's free rides.
From 6 p.m. through 3 a.m. New Year's Day, all Metro Transit rides will be free. All you have to do is hop on the train or bus and you're good to go. No tickets, no coupons necessary.
The offer includes all Metro Transit buses and light rail, in addition to free rides from Minnesota Valley Transit Authority and Anoka Transit.
In the southwest metro, Shakopee Police Department has teamed up with local taxi services to provide free rides on Monday night. The deal is good for rides from local bars only and runs from 9:30 p.m. till 2:30 a.m.
It's free for Shakopee residents going from Shakopee bars to Shakopee residences, and $10 for outsiders.
