A homicide investigation in Bloomington has resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old in Milwaukee.

Just prior to midnight on May 21, Bloomington police officers responded to a report of a person lying outside in the 7900 block of 2nd Ave. S. Police arrived at the scene and found 26-year-old Genevieve Marie Skouge, of Bloomington, unconscious and suffering from injuries consistent with aggravated assault.

Skouge was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Investigators developed "persons of interest" who were known to the victim, and that resulted in the arrested of 22-year-old Andrew Earl Story, of Milwaukee. He was arrested in Milwaukee on May 22 and is currently being held at the Milwaukee County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.

Story, originally from the Twin Cities, is being held without bail pending extradition to Minnesota. Police added that Story had known Skouge for four years.

"We would like to thank all the outside agencies that assisted in the investigation, arrest, and charging of suspect Story," Bloomington PD said.
