Anoka County officials have charged a Pine City man with stealing a plow truck and crashing it while high on methamphetamine, KARE-TV reports.

Timothy Dean Gross, 39, was charged in connection with an alleged incident Monday in the vicinity of Interstate 35E near the junction of Highway 14 in Lino Lakes.

Lino Lakes Police and the Minnesota State Patrol were called to the scene around 6 a.m., after a caller reported that a man in a pickup sideswiped and drove away. According to KARE, authorities found the truck in a ditch not far away, and footprints that indicated that the suspect fled the scene.

Officers were then reportedly called by a Lino Lakes resident, who said a man broke into her home and said, 'It's a chase,' before leaving.

Gross was located by officials walking not far from the residence. After officers determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance, Gross allegedly admitted that he consumed methamphetamine while plowing in the previous three days.

Gross was also accused by the plow truck's owner of making a threat and taking his truck without permission.

WCCO-TV reports that Gross has been charged with with theft, second-degree driving while impaired (test refusal), third-degree driving while impaired (under the influence of a controlled substance), leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and trespassing.
