Minn. woman, O.J.'s ex, sentenced in theft
Former O.J. Simpson girlfriend Christie Prody, a Moorhead, Minn., native, has been sentenced to two years of supervised probation on a four-year suspended prison term in North Dakota in a purse-theft case, the Associated Press reported.
Prody was accused of trying to swipe a woman's purse last fall at a shopping mall in Fargo, where she now lives.
Prody on Monday entered an Alford Plea, in which she did not admit guilt but acknowledged there likely was enough evidence for a jury conviction.
Prody has been accused in a separate case in Minnesota of stealing painkillers from an elderly couple.
Prody had a 13-year relationship with the ex-NFL star that began not long after he was famously acquitted in 1995 in the killings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Prody in 2009 said she believed Simpson killed the two, based on comments he made during their relationship.
Simpson is in prison in Nevada for armed robbery and kidnapping, stemming from a 2007 incident in Las Vegas.
