Minneapolis among leaders in housing price increases
Minneapolis ranked near the top of the Case-Shiller list that ranks 20 big cities monthly on housing prices.
Minneapolis was No. 3 on the list with a 1.1 percent monthly housing price increase for September, behind Las Vegas and San Diego, which had 1.4 percent price increases that month.
It was the sixth consecutive month-over-month increase for the 20-market list as a whole, the Los Angeles Times reports. The 20 markets were up just 0.3 percent from August but 3.0 percent from a year ago in September 2011.
A U.S. News and World Report blogger suggests that it's "safe" to say the nation is in a housing recovery.
