Minneapolis couple grateful for gesture after husband's seizure

A Minneapolis man's seizure on Friday ended on a positive note – literally – thanks to an act of kindness from a stranger, the Star Tribune reports.

Aaron Purmort, who was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer two years ago, suffered a seizure while driving in northeast Minneapolis. Before he knew it, he was in an ambulance, and found out the whereabouts of his vehicle thanks to a note in his jacket pocket that read, "Your car is parked in the tobacco shop parking lot at 18th Av NE and Stinson."

Thankful for the gesture, Purmort's wife, Nora, posted a photo of the note on her Facebook page, writing beneath it, "We have no idea who called 911 or moved our car to safety … but we sure are grateful for them and their Minnesota spirit. Hoping this post finds a way into their news feed so they know how thankful we are for their actions. You saved my husband and that is pretty damn rad."

As of Wednesday morning, the photo has been shared more than 3,400 times, but the good Samaritan has not yet stepped forward.

The couple didn't post the note in an effort to find out who moved the car. The intent was much simpler than that.

"It was more to say, ‘Thank you,’ to whoever — not even knowing if it would ever find them," Aaron Purmort told the Star Tribune. "It was just a really kind thing for them to do."

Aaron Purmort's seizure Friday was his first in two years. Nora Purmort is documenting her husband's progress on her blog, called My Husband's Tumor.
