Minneapolis office worker turns her cubicle into a Christmas log cabin

Don't bother, America's office workers. We have a winner in the "decorate your cubicle for Christmas" contest – and it's Angela Westfield of Minneapolis.

The saleswoman turned her desk at the W Minneapolis Hotel into a winter wonderland by encasing her cubicle in a log cabin, complete with Christmas trees, lights, fake snow and garlands, the Mail Online reports.

For the first time, her office decided to run a cubicle decoration contest during the holiday season, and Westfield has pretty much secured the title forever.

She went the extra mile as she, with the help of her husband Alex, built the 6-foot-high hut out of cardboard carpet rolls in their garage in Plymouth.

"They couldn't believe it," Westfield told ABC News when describing her coworkers' reactions. "We did it all pretty much for free. The roof is tar paper that my husband had left over from a construction site.”

"The only thing we bought was the fake snow for the top and I bought a picture frame that I turned into a window."

"I love the idea of a log cabin Christmas. I always have. Really cosy, log-cabin feel," she told the Metro.

ABC notes the deadline to complete the cubicles was originally Monday, but it was extended an extra two days to give Westfield's colleagues the chance to respond, with other designs including a cubicle wrapped as a present and another decorated like Candyland.

For originality though, Westfield's creation is surely a shoo-in when the winner is announced Monday.
