The Minneapolis police officer who was shot while responding to a call in north Minneapolis is out of the hospital.

Numerous sources – including FOX 9, the Star Tribune and KARE 11 – say the officer was released from North Memorial Medical Center within 36 hours of the shooting.

He and his partner had responded to the burglary call around 5 a.m. Saturday, and were standing near their squad car at 24th and Fremont Avenue North when a single shot was fired, striking one of them, police said.

The victim was driven to the hospital by his partner, where he was in stable condition.

His name has not been publicly released by the police department, but multiple reports identify him as Jordan Davis.

One arrest, but no charges yet

After an hours-long search, one person was arrested Saturday afternoon on suspicion of burglary and domestic assault.

But as of Monday morning, he had not been charged.

The most recent word from authorities: investigators were still determining what the link between the domestic assault case and the shooting is, KSTP reports. The station says more information is expected Monday.

The suspect is 43 years old and has a criminal history, WCCO says.
