A 14-year-old female Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board employee is recovering at home following an attack by a group of girls at Folwell Park Wednesday, the Star Tribune reports.

The victim, who reportedly told authorities that she knew her attackers, was allegedly beaten with a padlock, socks filled with rocks, and a Taser.

Folwell Park, one of the biggest parks in north Minneapolis, is located between Humboldt Ave. and Knox Ave.

The girl is one of about 250 kids who work as part of the Park Board's Teen Teamworks summer jobs program.

WCCO reports that the teen was surrounded by approximately 15 teenage girls at the park at about 3 p.m. Wednesday, before the main attacker began to hit the girl with a lock.

The group had left the area before officers arrived on the scene. WCCO says paramedics treated the victim before her grandmother took her to North Memorial Medical Center.

Teen Teamworks organizers plan to meet with employees next week to talk about the attack.

Program coordinator Linda Tkaczik told the Star Tribune that what happened with the 14-year-old "was such an unusual incident.”

Anyone with information about the attack is urged to call the police.
