A baby died after police responded to a report of the child not breathing, and now a juvenile is in custody.

Details are sparse right now, but the Minneapolis Police Department said in a news release officers responded to a call of a baby not breathing shortly before noon Wednesday, on the 3800 block of 30th Avenue South.

The child was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in an ambulance, but died later that night.

One person, a juvenile, was taken into custody. Police say they aren't looking for any other suspects.

The medical examiner will release the identity of the victim, as well as the cause of death.
