Police in Minneapolis are investigating after a man was spotted trying to lure a child on Sunday.

Minneapolis PD says the incident happened around noon outside a home on the 3800 block of 52nd Street West, which is near the Edina border at 50th and France.

The young child was outside playing and their parent had momentarily gone inside the house.

When they came back out, they saw a man with his arms extended towards the child. He ran off when the parent yelled at him.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, black or gray hair, black goatee, wearing a dark or blue jacket

The same parent said they saw the vehicle he's thought to be using, a gray or silver vehicle with either front bumper damage or a partial front bumper, in the area before the attempted abduction.

Investigators have canvassed the area, interviewing potential witnesses and checking for surveillance footage.
