Minneapolis theater director found dead in northern Minnesota

A man with ties to the Twin Cities arts community was found dead in northern Minnesota Tuesday. Andrew Wagner rented two homes, one in northeast Minneapolis just down the street from the Ritz theater where he served as technical director.

A man with ties to the Twins Cities arts community was found dead in St. Louis County Tuesday. The Duluth News Tribune reports 48-year-old Andrew Wagner was found dead in his car along a logging road near Orr. No foul play was suspected. Wagner was reported missing May 3.

Wagner has several years of experience working with Minneapolis theaters. According to his Linkedin profile, Wagner was the technical director at the Ritz theater and previously worked at the Walker Art Center and Illusion Theater.

Mesabi Daily News reports Wagner had a residence in northeast Minneapolis, a couple blocks away from the Ritz, and had been working on a performance at the Ordway in St. Paul.
