A 6-year-old Minnesota boy suffered serious injuries to his leg in a lawnmower accident on Saturday, July 25.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened around 8:25 p.m.in the town of Felton, with the boy being airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for care.

The child, identified in a GoFundMe as Benjamin, suffered "severe damage to his calf and surrounding muscle tissue." The person who created the online fundraiser wrote that, "for the sake of the family, all I will say is he ended up under the machine, and the blades got his right calf."

"Little Ben will have a long recovery process, but in hopes to regain all function of his right foot. With months of doctor appointments and physical therapy ahead, please keep Ben in your prayers during this tough time," the fundraiser said.

Money raised will help pay for medical expenses. As of Monday morning, approximately $850 of the $10,000 campaign goal had been donated.

Felton is located about 20 miles northeast of Fargo.
