The Minnesota Medical Association's governing board decided not to recommend annual chlamydia tests for all young adults. The group says screening for men is not cost effective. The tests are recommended for sexually active women ages 15 to 25.

Students at the University of Minnesota tell the Star Tribune that the use of legal and illegal prescription drugs has become common on campus, and a new study says one in four adults fake symptoms to get drugs, news that has some doctors calling for tougher screening tests.

Jury selection began Monday in the trial of surgeon Jon Norberg, who is accused of drugging his wife with the powerful anesthetic propofol, the drug that featured prominently in the death of pop singer Michael Jackson. Norberg is accused sexually assaulting his wife Alonna Norberg, alos a doctor, while she was sedated.

The recession officially ended in 2009, but new Census data show there are prolonged rates of joblessness with young adults causing them to delay marriage and put off having children. Poverty rates for their age group is higher than others.
