Minnesota GOP chair hints that MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell could be governor pick
Minnesota’s GOP chairwoman has suggested MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is the frontrunner for the party’s governor pick to take on Tim Walz in 2022.
Chairwoman Jennifer Carnahan alluded to the possibility in a tweet from a GOP rally in Hutchinson on Monday. The event was attended by Lindell as well as former Congressman and Senate candidate Jason Lewis and Congressman Tom Emmer.
“Minnesota’s Honorary Chairman for the Trump Campaign [Mike Lindell] is working tirelessly across the country to ensure we deliver [President Donald Trump] #FOURMOREYEARS and flip Minnesota in 43 days. It will happen. And then we are going to make him our next Governor,” Carnahan’s tweet read.
Lindell has been an avid supporter of President Trump since his 2016 campaign. He’s also been a part of the Trump campaign’s effort to turn Minnesota red in 2020, appearing with the president at an event in Mankato last month.
Trump praised Lindell and his Chaska-based company at the event, even saying, “ "When I sleep I'm using his pillow." Trump has also hosted Lindell at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Liddell spoke at the Republican National Convention last month, where he criticized Democratic leadership in Minnesota and predicted Trump would win the state in 2020, according to WCCO.
