Upper Michigans Source reports the man's body was found in the waters of Lake Superior at the base of a sheer cliff on Presque Isle Park around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Marquette City Police.

The Associated Press, citing a story from the Mining Journal, says the two men who found the body and notified police were visiting from St. Paul, Minnesota.

One of the hikers, whose face is not shown, told WJMN-TV they took a photo over the cliff then began walking back when they noticed a lone bike. So they checked the phone's camera roll "and I saw his feet sticking out," the hiker told the station.

They then called 911.

The identification of the victim hasn't been released as authorities work to notify the family, according to reports.

ABC 10 reports the body was found near Black Rocks – which in a report from 2013 the Mining Journal highlighted as a spot for the "unspoken tradition" of cliff jumping. The site says the fall can be 20-30 feet.

Google "Black Rocks Presque Isle Park" and you'll immediately see stories of cliff diving at the spot, including accounts from Things to do in the U.P., and Some Yooper Beach.

YouTube has a number of Black Rocks videos, too.

Police haven't said what the man whose body was found may have been doing prior to the incident.
