A Kimball man severed three of his fingers while using a table saw at his home.

Emergency responders were called to the house on the 8200 block of 137th Street in Maine Prairie Township around 1:05 p.m. Thursday.

Eugene Gohmann, 53, was working alone in his shed cutting a sheet of plastic on a table saw when the accident happened.

He sheared off three of his fingers, and was taken by Watkins Ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

Citing figures from 2004 to 2015, Statista notes that amputations caused by table saw accidents range from 3,400 to 5,100 incidents a year in the U.S.
