Minnesota to hold another pop-up vaccination event at Vikings facility
For the second time in a month, the Minnesota Vikings' Eagan training facility will play host to a temporary community vaccination site.
The TCO Performance Center will hold the pop-up event this coming week, coming as Minnesota expands eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines to all adults starting Tuesday.
Two other pop-up events are being held by the Minnesota Department of Health this week in Worthington and Marshall, which is part of the effort to get frontline workers in area meatpacking plants and vaccinated.
The state also operates seven large-scale community vaccination sites: in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Duluth, Rochester, St. Cloud, and Mankato.
"This continued partnership with the Minnesota Vikings helps us move the ball further down the field in the fight to end the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Governor Walz. “Our Community Vaccination Program is a critical component of Minnesota’s all-hands-on-deck vaccination strategy, and this additional opportunity at the Vikings training facility will help this life-saving vaccine reach even more Minnesotans.”
Minnesota is expected to see a significant increase in the number of available vaccines in early April, with the state's allocation from the federal government more than doubling.
