Minnesota truck driver killed in crash in Iowa

The semi-truck driver killed in the crash was from Savage, Minnesota.

A Minnesota semi-truck driver was killed in a crash on Interstate 35 in Iowa on Thursday. 

The crash report from the Iowa State Patrol says 62-year-old Paul Charles Griebel, 62 of Savage died when he crashed into a truck pulling a directional arrow sign on a trailer that was advising drivers to move to the left lane. 

Griebel failed to move over struck the trailer before entering the ditch and rolling. He was not wearing a seat belt. 

The driver of the vehicle pulling the trailer spun 180 degrees and was facing south in the northbound lane. Fortunately, that driver was not injured. 

The crash happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. in Decatur County, which is on Iowa's border with Missouri.
