A Minnesota woman survived a fall of some 80 feet from a cliff at a state park in South Dakota.

The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office says the fall was reported Monday evening at Palisades State Park, northeast of Sioux Falls.

The 28-year-old woman struck the side of the rock face several times on the way down.

She then landed in the Split Rock Creek below.

Remarkably, not only did she survive the fall, but sustained only minor injuries, per the sheriff's office.

She was pulled from the water and taken to a hospital.

While it didn't describe the circumstances of how the woman came to fall from the cliff, the sheriff's office did issue a reminder that jumping from rocks into water is prohibited at South Dakota State Parks.
