Cute alert: Minnesota Zoo adds 3 baby snow monkeys to its troop

Three baby snow monkeys made their public appearance at the Minnesota Zoo Tuesday.

The baby monkeys – born April 17, April 20 and May 1 – are just starting to venture out on their own, but do spend most of their time with their mothers, the zoo announced.

The zoo doesn't know the sex of the little monkeys yet and they haven't been named.

Snow monkeys weigh about one pound at birth, but with a steady diet – snow monkeys in the wild eat fruit, plants, small animals, insects, and farm crops – they're expected to grow to 15-25 pounds.

These new additions join the zoo's troop of about 20 snow monkeys. These primates are highly social animals that tend to live in troops with 10-70 or more other monkeys in the wild, spending most of their days lounging in the sun or swinging from trees.

Here are some more photos of the adorable monkeys.
