Minor injuries reported after bus carrying 12 students crashes into ditch

The crash happened in rural Polk County.

Three students suffered minor injuries when a school bus slid into a ditch in northwest Minnesota on Tuesday. 

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the bus involved was carrying 12 students from Fisher School District.

Three students, ages 7, 8 and 9, were treated by Altru Ambulance and East Grand Forks Fire at the scene and later released to family members. 

The crash happened in an area near 225th St. SW and 390th Ave. SW. 

The 51-year-old bus driver was not injured and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. 

The incident remains under investigation.
