A St. Paul teenaged girl was located in the Twin Cities on Friday morning and is safe, St. Paul police said Friday.

The Pioneer Press reported that police indicated that they had reason to be concerned about Krystal Pankey's safety because of her involvement in a federal case. Local television stations, including FOX 9, had publicly shared her picture as the police sought the public's help in locating her.

Pankey was last seen on June 4 at a relative's house in West St. Paul. Police and federal authorities have not elaborated on the specifics of the federal case she is involved in, although police have said Pankey's is not a suspect.

St. Paul police spokesman Howie Padilla told the newspaper that no one is under arrest in connection with Pankey's disappearance. Padilla said he wouldn't elaborate on the circumstances.

"All those answers are ones we're going to be gathering ourselves," Padilla said. "The important thing for us is that she has been found and she is safe."
