A young man who went missing in southwest Minnesota in late January has been found dead.
According to the Lower Sioux Police Department, 21-year-old Quincy D. Schaffer's body was found around 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 31 in a lightly wooded area in the Lower Sioux Indian Reservation near Redwood Falls.
His body was found by an organized search party four days after he was reported missing. An autopsy determined that hypothermia was a contributing factor in Schaffer's death, KSTP reports.
“This certainly is not the outcome we all hoped for, but at the very least he has been found,” the Lower Sioux Tribal Council said in a statement.
