Search for missing boater on Peltier Lake ends in discovery of body

A boater who went missing after being reported as "in distress" in Lino Lakes this weekend has been found dead.

The victim had been seen falling from the craft on Pelter Lake on Saturday afternoon, a news release from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office says.

Following a large search involving multiple agencies, the person was found "submerged and deceased" underwater at about 11 p.m. 

Authorities have released few details about the victim's identity, pending notification of family members. 

No one else was on the boat at the time. 

This brings the known number of Minnesota boat fatalities to 11 for the year so far. 

As of August 20, 10 people had died in boating accidents around the state, according to DNR statistics
