Missing boy found hiding in woods after 7-hour search
An 11-year-old boy reported missing Tuesday afternoon was found via drones several hours later.
The child was reported missing around noon Tuesday, with police told he had been gone from his home in Irondale Township for around 2 hours.
Several public safety agencies began a search lasting seven hours, carrying out a grid-search spanning over 160 acres with K-9 officers and mounted patrol involved, the Crow County Sheriff's Office said.
Drone team pilots found him hiding in the woods near to his home around 7:20 p.m.
"A special thanks to all of the public volunteers lending their support to the family of the boy," the sheriff's office said in a press release.
"Several volunteers provided assistance by driving area roads and trails that was crucial to allow more police and fire personnel to focus on wooded areas."
