The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office has identified the boy who went missing on Blue Earth River in southern Minnesota.

Denis Funuz, 11, of Madelia, went missing on Saturday when he was swimming with friends at around 6 p.m. at Rapidan County Park.

He was pulled into the current, and officials are now calling the incident a “probable drowning."

According to a press release, a renewed search on Sunday was ultimately unsuccessful, with efforts set to resume Monday morning.

The park southwest of Mankato is located alongside the Rapidan Dam, offering access to the Blue Earth River along with other facilities including a campsite.

It has been closed to the public while the search is carried out.
