A 24-year-old Navy sailor from Minnesota has been found safe, just over a week after being reported missing in Connecticut.
Jacob E. Tyler had been reported missing in the town of Groton, and had last been seen on Mar 17 and didn't turn up for work at USS North Dakota, docked at the Naval Submarine Base New London.
But the Groton Town Police Department announced on Wednesday that Tyler had been found safe and unharmed in another state.
It hasn't released any details as to what state he was found in, nor what he had been doing while he was missing.
However, his mother Barbara, who flew out to Connecticut from Stillwater to assist with the search, revealed on Facebook that her son had contacted her on Tuesday evening.
"He made the decision to seek out help and is getting the help he needs," she said. "We are so proud of him and the courage it took to come forward."
She thanked all those who helped with the search and offered support, saying: "Jacob found that courage to come forward in part because of your prayers and God's grace.
"The overwhelming response from our family and friends of support and encouragement was nothing short of a miracle."
