A search for a vulnerable adult has come to a sad end with the discovery of his body in Bloomington.
David Shibata, 73, was reported missing after walking away from his residence at 8100 Highwood Drive on Wednesday evening. Police noted at the time that he "has Alzheimer’s but is normally able to care for himself":
Two days later, he was found deceased in "on the edge of a wooded area on the west side of Bloomington," according to a Friday update from the PD.
Though the Hennepin County Medical Examiner will be investigating his cause of his death, police say they do not suspect foul play.
"We want to that the public for their many calls and to all the agencies’ that assisted us in our search," the update adds. "We want to add a special thank you to the MN BCA and Northstar Search and Rescue."
