Marya Anna Christiansen was last seen around 2:30 a.m. Saturday leaving a friend's residence in Red Wing, Minnesota, according to a news release from the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.

Patrol Sergeant Andrew Thoms told BringMeTheNews Christiansen was out with a small group of friends for a night on the town, and they'd been at a bar.

Christiansen told the people she was with she was going home, to her residence on County Road 00 near Hager City, Wisconsin – just across the river from Red Wing.

She left alone, Thoms said.

Christiansen would have been driving a white 2006 Dodge Caravan, with a Wisconsin plate 443-VPF (see the photo below, in the next section).

According to the release, Christiansen's boyfriend called Saturday afternoon to say she never made it back – something her family says is not like her, Thoms said.

Search efforts underway

Thoms said they've got the water patrol out and are searching the river area. They're also using a plane from the Wisconsin State Patrol to provide a bird's-eye view.

A Facebook page titled Please help us find Marya Christiansen is providing updates, and organized a search effort for Sunday morning in Red Wing.

One commenter said they searched gravel pits and back roads from Beldenville to Diamond Bluff (just northwest of Hager City), and over to Highway 63.

Another lives on the same county road and drove around the back roads in the area Sunday around lunchtime as well. They did not spot anything.

Christiansen was last seen wearing a red short-sleeve shirt, black leggings, and tall black boots. She's about 5-foot-2, 150 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about Christiansen is asked to call the Pierce County Sheriff's Office at 715-273-5051.
