A southeast Minnesota woman reported missing last week was found dead on Saturday.

The St. Charles Police Department announced that the body of Patricia Poole, 88, of St. Charles, was found around 11 a.m. in the Winona County city, located about 25 miles east of Rochester.

Information about Poole's cause of death and where she was found have not been released.

Poole was last seen around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24 and was reported missing from 1200 block of East Ave. She was thought to have been wearing black shoes, a white coat and carrying a black handbag, and was described as being 5-foot-6 and approximately 140 pounds.

Police asked residents to look in garages, storage sheds, vacant vehicles, wooded areas, trailers, barns and anywhere else she could've possibly gone to seek shelter.

"The St Charles Police Department and the Winona County Sheriff’s Office along with Mrs Poole’s family would like to express our sincere thanks to all the volunteer organizations and community members who aided in the search," the police department said Saturday.
