A Minnesota man clocked going 132 mph on his motorcycle while being pursued by a state trooper crashed and had to be taken to the hospital.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin says the motorist, a 20-year-old from Eden Prairie, was spotted going 83 mph around 1 a.m. Monday, heading west on I-94 near Warren.

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper went to pull the motorcyclist over, using his lights and siren – but the bike didn't stop, continuing on and leading to a pursuit, the release says.

Speeds during the chase reached 132 mph, according to the sheriff's office.

In Hudson, the motorcyclist crashed, throwing the driver.

He was found in heavy brush, conscious and alert, but complaining about pain in his left leg, the release says. He was first taken to a Hudson hospital, but later transferred to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Charges are pending.

Motorcycle crashes

Over this past weekend, multiple motorcycle crashes and accidents were reported.

That includes a biker taking part in the annual Spring Flood Run, who died after colliding with a sedan near Kellogg.

And another who lost control of his motorcycle and hit a barrier on a Twin Cities highway. The driver was thrown over the wall and fell to the highway below, suffering serious injuries.

There were also some crashes that resulted in just minor injuries.

This year marked the second-earliest motorcycle season death in state history, when in early March two people were killed in a crash. During the 2015 riding season there were 61 motorcycle fatalities – up from the 44 in 2014, preliminary numbers showed.
