MnDOT: Expect holiday weekend delays on I-35

Labor Day weekend travelers on Interstate 35 between Duluth and the Twin Cities during Labor Day weekend will find two single-lane construction work zones.

Labor Day weekend motorists looking for a little holiday fun up north may find themselves delayed on Interstate 35 between Duluth and the Twin Cities, KARE 11 says. They'll find two single-lane construction work zones.

Roads are expected to be busy as people travel for Labor Day weekend.

Expect weekend delays, detours on I-94 east, I-35W

Road construction may snarl traffic this weekend, as all eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 close for crews to lay pavement between Highway 55/Hiawatha Avenue and Highway 280 in Minneapolis. Interstate 35W in Arden Hills is closed in both directions between Interstate 694 and Highway 10 so crews can demolish the old County 10 Bridge. The closures continue through early Monday morning.

I-35E among weekend closures in Twin Cities

Another round of road closures will create some obstacles this weekend for those traveling around the Twin Cities. Motorists are encouraged to avoid both directions of Interstate 35E will between I-94 and Highway 36. It will be closed for 24 hours staring at 4 a.m. Saturday. Highway 100 northbound will be closed from Highway 62 to Interstate 394 from 5 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.

I-94 westbound closed this weekend between St. Paul, Mpls.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 94 will be fully closed between Highway 280 and Highway 55/Hiawatha Avenue through the end of the weekend. MnDOT says it will be the final full closure of this project on I-94's westbound lanes.

MnDot: weekend construction closes parts of I-35 & I-694

Key stretches of freeway will be closed at 10 p.m. Friday night, according to MnDOT. Westbound Interstate 694/Hwy. 10 will be closed between I-35E and I-35W for an overpass demolition. While southbound I-35W between Hwy 13 and Burnsville will close, too. Both are set to reopen 5 a.m. Monday.
