Minnesota health officials plan to launch a call center to field calls from consumers related to Minnesota's new online health insurance marketplace called MNsure, MPR reports.

The new call center, set for a Sept. 3 start date, is being created after officials studied best practices for call centers in other states, MPR reports. One feature: If a phone staffer can't answer a question, the call will be directly "warm transfered" to another person who can.

The 800-number has not yet been announced. The phone line will be staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Officials want to start up the call center in advance of the October launch of MNsure, a new online marketplace where residents and businesses will be able to get affordable health coverage, state officials say. Enrollees can apply for reduced or even free plans if they qualify. The Legislature approved the creation of the health exchange earlier this year. State health exchanges stem from the Affordable Care Act, often called Obamacare.

More than 1 million Minnesotans are expected to enroll. Here are some FAQs about the new marketplace.
