More than 100 people camped outside the new Chick-fil-A in Burnsville overnight for their chance to win a year's supply of free food.

The first 100 people in line at the new location on County Road 42W got to take advantage of the special promotion – free Chick-fil-A sandwich meals (a chicken sandwich, medium waffle potato fries and a medium drink) for an entire year, according to the company's website.

Nearly a dozen people began camping outside the restaurant 24 hours before it opened, and by 9 p.m. Tuesday night, 60 people had showed up.

The restaurant registered 104 campers, who were woken up around 5 a.m. Wednesday and were led into the restaurant when it opened at 6 a.m. – the first 100 people in line got a year supply of free food, Cindi Pickett of CP Communications Inc., told BringMeTheNews.

This is the seventh Chick-fil-A to open in Minnesota. The first opened in Maple Grove in 2013, the Pioneer Press reported.
